Local Natives: Breakers

Local Natives (previously known as Cavil at Rest) are an indie rock band based in Silver LakeLos AngelesUSA. Their debut album,Gorilla Manor, was first released in the UK in November 2009, and later released in the US on February 16, 2010. The album received mostly positive reviews and debuted in the Billboard 200 and at No. 3 in the New Artist Chart. The Local Natives were at many times mentioned to be a "band with magical powers."

Their sound has been described as "afropop-influenced guitars with hyperactive drumming and hooky three-part harmonies". Clash Music has also described their style as psych folk, or modern worldly folk.

They’ve released the first single from their forthcoming album, Hummingbirds, the follow-up to their acclaimed 2010 debut, Gorilla Manor. “Breakers” is a lush, swooning chamber-pop number with massive harmonic swells and dynamic shifts.

uggggh

This might be the first time I would express my feelings, well, the TRUE feelings that I have been felt. I would say, for about the last few months. I have had this feeling that I am being drug down in life, that something is taking me lower and lower, down the depths. I cannot put a finger on what it is EXACTLY.. maybe it's a sense of apprehension in life, afraid to fail. not to say I haven't failed before. I have and may again. but i stay strong, continuing on in life. I have SOOO much to offer the world. My intelligence, intellect, witty sense of humor, my passion for life and my love to live everyday as if it's my last. I am shy sometimes when it comes to expressing myself. maybe that is why...

SOMEDAY YOU WILL BE PROUD OF ME.

Disclosure – Latch

A lot of songs are written about lust and the immediate rush of falling head over heels in love with someone, but few seem to sum up its deliriousness as brilliantly as Latch, the latest single from brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence, aka Disclosure. Featuring full-bodied vocals from newcomer Sam Smith, it's a slowly unravelling ode to the thrill of wanting to figuratively (and possibly literally) latch on to someone else: "Now I've got you in my space, I won't let go of you / I've got you shackled in my embrace, I'm latching on to you." For the video – premiered here – (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93ASUImTedo) we get to see a lot of good-looking people basically just getting off with each other in various locations – in a lift, on a bed and, finally, on a revolving platform of some kind. Latch is the duo's first single since signing a deal with PMR Records, who recently released Jessie Ware's first album, so know a thing or two about songs that feel emotionally direct and intimate.

You left my heart out
When the rest of me is down
You, you enchanted me, even when you are not around
If there are boundaries, I will try to knock them down
I’m latching on they
Now I know what I have found

I feel you close enough
I wanna latch in your love
I think we’re close enough
Cuz I latch when you’re mine

Now I got you in my space
I won’t let go with you
What you shackle in my embrace
I’m latching on you

Now I got you in my space
I won’t let go with you
What you shackle in my embrace
I’m latching on you

I’m so encaptured, got wrapped up in your touch
Feel so enamored, hold me tighter then your clutch
How do you do it, you got me losing every breath
Why did you give me to make my heart bleed out my chest

I feel you close enough
I wanna latch in your love
I think we’re close enough
Could I latch in your love, baby
I feel we’re close enough
I wanna latch in your love
I think we’re close enough
Could I latch in your love, baby

Now I got you in my space
I won’t let go with you
What you shackled in my embrace
I’m latching on you

Now I got you in my space
I won’t let go with you
What you shackled in my embrace
I’m latching on you
latching on you
I won’t let go with you
(I won’t let go)
latching on you
I won’t let go with you

Solange: "Losing You"

woah holy crap, it's been a month since I blogged. I really have been a slacker, haven't I. I haven't been very good about blogging. but I'm back, I'm gonna blog about Solange new single "Losing You"
Along with Sky Ferreira's "Everything Is Embarrassing", Solange's "Losing You" makes for a fine diptych of relationship turmoil from songwriter and producer Dev Hynes. But the song's video, which features Solange zooming around South Africa, gives away the gambit. Unlike "Everything," a slow jam that glows with gloom, "Losing You" is ultimately driven by what you hear in the first 20 seconds: a funky guitar lick, a sample of a jubilant party, and a bubbly drumbeat. Solange cooly asks, "Tell me the truth, boy, am I losing you for good?" throughout, but even after the song submerges itself in fog, those elements never let up. There is a yearning at the heart of "Losing You", but its beat underscores Solange's desire for a clean break. She is waiting to dance it all away, or to take a trip, jump in the pool with her clothes on and forget it all. Everything, on the contrary, is actually okay.

August Rush

Wow, August rush. how time flies so fast, it's already the last month before the -BER months come in. This early, many of us are already anticipating Christmas. Yes, you may be surprised that in our country we start celebrating Christmas this early. I don't know why too. But at the first day of September we can already hear Christmas songs over the radio early in the morning! Some buy Christmas gifts for their 'INAANAK', relatives and for their loved ones too. It's so crazy that no matter how poor is our country, we never fail to give presents on this special day.  HOORAY! It's More Fun in The Philippines.

Let me share to you my favorite Christmas Song. I don't know why but this song puts a tear in my eye! haha

ADVANCE MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE

Jessie Ware: "Sweet Talk"

Every once in a while, a song comes along that is the perfect mix of production, theme, and content-- a song like Jessie Ware's "Sweet Talk", a single taken from her upcoming album Devotion. It's a song infused with delicate yearning, a celebration of that moment where you give in to complication. "I thought you knew I had to stay away from you/ I fought you hard, yet still you have the power," it starts, a Fender Rhodes-like keyboard melody and behind-the-beat percussion living an ocean of space for the listener to fill with his or her own desires. It's Sade, it's Marvin Gaye; it's unbelievably sexy but also thoughtful; it's sad and wistful and, ultimately, grounded. It pulls me in and it works for me, so I never leave.

Blood Diamonds

 B  lood Diamonds, aka Michael
Diamond, is a Los Angeles-
based pop artist best known for
his luxurious dreamscapes and
infectious, sun-dipped production.
What will be his debut 4AD record,
the much-talked about 'Phone Sex'
track is finally getting released
on July 16th (EU/UK) / July 24th
(North America)

Featuring close friend Grimes (Claire Boucher), ‘Phone Sex’ is a track they made together late last-year in a nightlong quest to create a perfect pop song. Influenced by both K-Pop and big productions, they succeeded in creating something true to their aim, an otherworldly summer anthem. For those new to Blood Diamonds, Mike has been making a name for himself over the last few years.

Coming from a background in classical and modernistic jazz from his adolescence in Kansas City, after moving to Vancouver to study a degree in video game design, he became absorbed in all music electronic and started to make his own, sharing it online. This will be his first commercial release since the ‘Grins’ 7” on Transparent Records last summer and he’s close to finishing off his debut album, which hopefully will be out in early-2013. ‘Phone Sex’ is being pressed as a 12” on transparent pink vinyl and will also be made available digitally

Tracklisting

A2. 'Ritual'

The Weeknd xo

Abel Tesfaye or  better known by his stage name The Weeknd, is a Canadian R&B recording artist and record producer of Ethiopian descent from TorontoOntario. He began recording songs under the stage name The Weeknd and uploading them to YouTube in late 2010, though his identity was initially unknown.

The Weeknd has received praise from several music publications, including those of Pitchfork, MTV, BETRolling StoneXXL and The Source, who have dubbed him the "Songbird of his Generation" and the "best musical talent since Michael Jackson" (John Norris, MTV).

In March 2011, The Weeknd released a nine-song free album, House of Balloons, which was critically acclaimed. The title track is based on a sample of Siouxsie and the Banshees' hit single "Happy House."

Thursday is a mixtape released shortly after House of Balloons on August 18, 2011, on XO's label. Although the mixtape was released for free on his website as a digital download, feedback was largely positive. Thursday was produced in Toronto, Ontario with the help of Doc McKinney and Illangelo.

The Weeknd's third mixtape, titled Echoes of Silence, was released on December 21, 2011. It has been described as Tesfaye's most lyrically powerful and emotional mixtape to date

I discovered 'The Weeknd' at Coachella Music Festival 2012 where they performed the song Wicked Games. Abel Tesfaye voice is fucking relaxzing (relaxing/amazing). It's like you're listening to their studio version. I love him, I love him, I love him. Everything DOPE. I need to go to one of his concerts, like seriously. hahaha

JONQUIL

'Point of Go' is the forth album of Jonquil. Jonquil is an English indie rock collective Jonquil were formed in Oxford by (then) 20-year-old multi-instrumentalist/songwriter Hugo Manuel in an attempt to flesh out what was initially a bedroom recording project. The band, whose myriad influences include everyone from the Microphones to Joan Baez, blends the swirling cacophony of "freak folk" acts like Animal Collective and Skygreen Leopards with the indie pop sensibilities of Modest Mouse and Fleet Foxes. Jonquil released their debut, Sunny Casinos, in 2006, followed by Lions in 2008. One Hundred Suns arrived in 2010.

Brown Shoes

As you can see, I blog mostly about music. Today, I decided to blog about brown shoes that I am really hooked on. For some reasons: it looks elegant and classic. I am not a fashionable person or even a stylish person, I just know what the "baduy" outfits but it really depends on social geography or social group a person belongs to. I must admit, sometimes I wear "baduy" for example: I wear pink shirt and pink shoes at the same time. I know it's "baduy" (pero walang basagan ng trip) haha I prefer to wear comfortable clothes rather than stylish clothes. for me the "baduy" ones are the people who wear HIP clothes that don't fit perfectly to them.

here are some brown shoes I have.

Out-sole low cut boots

Tim Kay - My World (OST for 'Jamie at Home')

I'm so sorry for not blogging these past days for some reasons: I don't know what will I blog and I have slow internet connection.

I just want to share to you the OST of one of my favorite cooking shows (Jamie at Home) and the chef that I admire the most (Jamie Oliver). Tim Kay's first single "My World" was chosen as the theme music for 'Jamie at Home' series, which continues to be broadcast across the world. You can watch 'Jamie at Home' on TLC.

Hope you enjoy this track. Lyrics' available below so you can sing while playing the song.

I´ll show you,
What It takes to feed my mind,
You go trough, reading all my signes
It was a lovely day,
When everything was everywhere
And now love came in to season
I didn´t know you
Nice little dreams you push to side
Can we take to until we see those eyes we love to hide
And I´m alone in bed
In someone elses head

And now love came in to season
Take time and make yourself feel good
And you do whatever you want
Cause you can now, in my world
Make it up for losing so much time
Cause you can now, in my world

We want to take a little walk down this room you know
I´m not scared to cause
If we get back we can take it real slow
Another lovely day
When everything was everywhere

And now love came in to season

Take time and make yourself feel good
And you do whatever you want
Cause you can now, in my world
Make it up for losing so much time
Cause you can now, in my world (2x)

Hollywood by RAC / Chillwave

I've been playing this song along with Let's Go Home by Carousel last June but never had the chance to include in my blogs. Hollywood (feat Penguin Prison) This track is one of the first original productions from RAC, the Portland / New York based group who’s most known for their collection of indie / dance remixes. For this original track “Hollywood” they carry over their cheerful dance vibe to an upbeat original track with vocals from Penguin Prison really pulling it together. I challenge any of you to blast this track and have a good time. Lyrics available below so you can sing while playing the song. :))

I’m not telling you again what you need
It’s just a slap around
To make everything stoá¹— and cure the fall
When you come back down
I’m not everything you want

I’m just a tease
Maybe a matter of touch
You could tell me what you want, I’ll give it to you
Maybe you think to much

Cause you’re Hollywood, you never should
We never talk anymore
With your high heels on
You kill the sun, I’m not your friend anymore

I’m so sick and tired of everyone telling you what you want
I could never keep track who’s gonna come
when you start waving your magic wand
And you seem to forget everything that you said
Before you had it written for you
There’s too much going on that you need to belong to
It’s the only thing you know how to do

Cause you’re Hollywood, another world
You made it all on your own
With your high heels on
You kill the sun, I’m not your friend anymore

You went to Hollywood to make it

Hollywood, you never should
We never talk anymore
With your high heels on
You kill the sun, I’m not your friend anymore
Not your friend anymore,
Not your friend anymore,
Not your friend anymore,

Not your friend anymore,
Not your friend anymore,
Not your friend anymore,

Go-tee-yay

It's been a while since I blogged coz my Internet was temporarily disconnected. so I figured I should probably update on several things. First off, News network had reported that the Australian singer (Gotye) had killed himself yesterday. CNN iReport reported that the Australian singer had shot himself in the head with a 9mm gun. yeah, right!  Glad to know it's a fake. well, who wouldn't buy that Gotye prank? It's fucking CNN who reported it.

Anyways, I would like to share my favorite songs of Gotye. I will not include Somebody That I used To Know coz it's given. haha

Save Me

The Only Thing I Know

Night Drive

Gotye is handsome and has great voice though some of his music has weird sounds.
